Investigation Report
The investigation began at approx 2200 on Friday 24th June 2011 at the Golden Fleece.
The investigation started with the medium walk with our Spiritualist Medium Adrian Fuller.
Please note some names have been omitted from this report in case of any living relatives that may still be alive.
The first stop was the Ministers Room, in here Adrian picked up on a feeling of being strangled, the male spirit that had done this was very angry and when he was alive he would kill people just to rob them, the angry spirit was a highwayman called Jack, Adrian had sensed that once Jack had killed people to rob them he would move their bodies to the nearest river to dispose of them, the number 9 was very strong with Adrian at this point. Adrian then picked up on another male character who was wearing a tri-cornered hat, and this spirit had his 2 black terrier dogs with him, the approx year was 1700. Adrian had also picked up on a shooting in the Ministers Room and the weapon used was a flint lock gun. The pub was possibly used as a place to smuggle people in and the name Warrick was picked up with that, we moved onto the next room which was called the Shambles Room.
In the Shambles Room Adrian picked up on a little girl called Daisy, he said that she has been seen skipping around, and that she tries to touch people in the room and move objects. Suddenly a male spirit was picked up on, this male spirit seemed to have a problem with his leg possibly gangrene, the name Raymond was associated with this man, but a connection with a town called Ferry Bridge was very strong with him, it seems that this male had died on a Sunday morning a specific date was picked up on and this was the 17th May 1602.
We then moved to St Catherine's Room, in here a Victorian lady who just walks across the room was picked up on. Plus the strong feeling of children was felt, four girls and one boy and they were all from the same family that lived there at some point, all the children seemed to have died from the same disease, symptoms of a runny nose and spots on the body, Adrian mentioned that during their disease they were given just water, but all the family died within 6 weeks of the disease taking hold. A slim older gentleman was picked up on, he was miserable and seen holding a walking stick, and this man had no patience for children and would scare them, and it seems that he still did this in spirit. Adrian picked up on smugglers and that a gentleman was searching for them, this man was also a stickler for time and everyone keeping to time. It seemed that in this room objects would be moved and that the bed at times would be lifted off the floor. We moved onto the final area which was the Function Room.
Adrian picked up on a man from the 1940's, this man has only started to appear since groups have been investigating the Golden Fleece, this man liked to play and was game for anything, he likes the attention and was a bit of a joker.
With all this in mind it was time to start the vigils.
The group split into 3 teams due to the overall size of the location. The teams consisted of the following 13 Paranormal Team Members and Guests.
Team 1 - Dean Grant, Debbie Wilkinson and Stephanie Watson
Team 2 - Helena Sanders, Adrian Fuller and Susan Sharpe
Team 3 - Steve Virgo, Tracy Virgo and Graham Thompson
Please note for the remainder of this report, it will be about what Team 1 had experienced during the remainder of the nights investigation.
We started the 1st vigil in the Shambles Room, as soon as we entered the room it felt very welcoming but all 3 of us was weary of the exit door as we felt someone was stood there. About 5 minutes in I started taking photographs and what surprised us was the large colourful orbs captured, so I continued to take some more photos and some photos didn't show anything but others seemed to capture a movement, we are currently still analysing these photos so a definite answer on what they are is still being calculated, but apart from this the room was incredibly quiet, it seemed that the other rooms was quite active though, we were informed from Team 2 that they could hear banging's and if someone was walking in the room above them, this room was the Lady Pecketts Room, but the strange thing is due to a structure problem we wasn't allowed access as it was unsafe so this room was locked, so who was in there?, was it spirit?, this ended the first vigil.
The 2nd Vigil was held in the bar which had just closed for the night, in here we tried the Franks Box to see if the spirits would talk through it, but unfortunately nothing specific was said through the box. After about 40 minutes we decided to move to the Function Room to where the spirit of the man who was a bit of a joker was picked up from, we spent the rest of the vigil in here, but unfortunalty nothing happened it was very quiet, so this ended the 2nd Vigil.
Our 3rd and final vigil was a mass vigil in what seemed to be the most active area of the building which was St Catherine's Room, in here myself, Helena, Steph, Adrian, Tracy and Graham decided to do some glass work, this is where you put your fingers on the glass and we ask the spirits to move the glass to show us that they are around us, about 10 minutes in the energy was being built up, then Adrian picked up on 2 girls from the family that died of the disease that wanted to play so we asked them to move the glass which happened very slowly, the glass was making slow, small circles, so we then asked the girls to move the glass to make a larger circle which they did, as the glass was going well I asked for the team to take their fingers off one at a time and place them back on the glass, this was to eradicate the possibility of someone pushing the glass, we all did this and the glass kept going which was fantastic to see, we asked the girls to twist the glass as it was going around the table and as soon as we asked the girls this the glass started to twist, this was brilliant as we all knew the glass can't be moved and twisted at the same time unless a spirit was doing it, no one can do this to a glass even if they were pushing it!, so it had to be spirit. Eventually the glass slowed down and stopped. A few moments later Adrian said they were bored of the glass so I suggested to do some table tipping which we all did, we put our fingers on the table and a few minutes later you could feel the table vibrating, it was a strange sensation as it was like a heartbeat, then we asked if they could try and make the table jump up or if they could push the table backwards and forwards, unfortunalty it didn't do this but the vibrations coming from the table was outstanding, but the table came to the same fate as the glass, it slowed down and then stopped. It was time to close down and finish the night to go home so Adrian and all the team closed the vigils down and we packed up.
The Golden Fleece is a very small building width wise but it is very long length wise, it was a very interesting location and we are very privileged to have investigated there, but activity was thin on the ground, however as mentioned before some nights it can be very quiet and others everything is kicking off, so the next night must've been a hectic one.
The investigation finished at 0415 on Saturday 25th June 2011.
In all, the investigation was a success, certain areas were more active than others but this is expected in all locations that are investigated.
Team Managers Note - Please note that all footage, audio clips and photos taken on all investigations are always thoroughly analysed for evidence and because of this it is an on-going process. Any evidence that we find will be displayed on the website once we are satisfied of its authenticity.
