Investigation Report

The investigation began at approx 2100 on Saturday 16thJuly 2011 at the Fire & Police Museum.

The investigation started with the medium walk with our Spiritualist Medium Adrian Fuller.

Please note some names have been omitted from this report in case of any living relatives that may still be alive.

We started on the ground floor in the police cell area, here Adrian instantly picked up on a woman who was leaning on the wall in the corridor, she was wearing an old dress which was long and was purple, she also was wearing a bonnet and a scarf, she seemed to be giving the impression of being a prostitute. A vagrant called Alan was then picked up on, he was really thin and kept asking for meals but he didn't want to eat them, he would just throw them against the wall, the meals looked similar to gruel or porridge, this character called Alan had a fear of being trapped and he would shout to get the officers attention so they can help him, but they seemed to avoid going to his cell as he smelt, it appears Alan died of starvation and he was in pain because of this. 2 in mates were picked up also they were called Timothy and Patrick.

We then moved to the Engine Room, in here Adrian picked up on a male called George, he worked on the engines so he was part of the maintenance crew, he seemed to have incurred an accident where he got crushed by one of the engines. As we moved towards the big double doors which is where all the fire engines would have left through to tackle the fires Adrian started saying "Whoa, Whoa", this was because a character called Alex from the 1940's was telling us to stay clear of the doors as the fire engines needed to get out. Adrian picked up on a fire on one of the fire engines, some fire fighters were injured, a male spirit called Andy was connected with the incident and it was his fault the engine caught fire as it was too close to the fire they were trying to put out. Towards the back of the engine house Adrian picked up on a spirit that would try to touch or push people, this spirit likes to do this and would try everything he could to harm people and one of the reasons he would do this was because where he was it was a very dark area of the building.

We then went to the 1stfloor, almost instantly Adrian started getting a horrible feeling on part of the stairs, but we carried onto a room which looked like an office, a female spirit called Mary was active and she would try to move things, this spirit was very positive. The exhibition room we moved to Adrian started getting a stabbing feeling in his stomach, as soon as this happened Adrian said that he heard a voice say "Roy did it". In the same room but in a different area Adrian got a warning about the area, someone had collapsed here recently, within the year, and this was because of a male energy that had cornered them and they couldn't handle the overwhelming negative feelings and just collapsed.

The next area we visited was the 2ndfloor, once home to many fire fighters as these were their bedrooms, as soon as we reached this area Adrian said he started getting a negative feeling about this floor, Adrian was stating that a male energy had been following us from all around the location, and that this spirit was looking at all of us and trying to find the 'Weakest Link', he would also stand right in front of you and try to stare you out. Then Adrian picked up on a female spirit who was warning us all to take extreme care and be on our guard, her name was Gladys, this ended the medium walk and it was now time to start the vigils.

The group split into 3 teams due to the overall size of the location. The teams consisted of the following 13 Paranormal Team Members and Guests.

Team 1 - Dean Grant, Stephanie Watson, Helena Sanders and Fiona Johnstone

Team 2 - Debbie Wilkinson, Tina Cheshire and Lesley Emmerson

Team 3 - Adrian Fuller, Steve Virgo, Zoe Patterson and Donna Eales

Please note for the remainder of this report, will be about what Team 1 had experienced during the remainder of the nights investigation, this part of the report was written by Stephanie Watson the groups Researcher.

We split up into small groups and in my group was myself (Steph), Dean, Fiona and Helena, our first area to investigate was the top floor display area. We called out to invite any spirits to come forward, the area to me felt very comfortable, although on occasion it did feel like someone was watching from a distance. We decided to split into two, Helena and I went one end of the corridor leaving Dean and Fiona at the other. We decided to sit fairly quiet and hopefully something may happen, unfortunately nothing did, we tried asking out one last time but still nothing. We went back and joined Dean and Fiona, who were getting a few noises, until our time was up.

Our second area to investigate was the first floor display area, same as before me, Dean, Fiona and Helena. The first room we went in was large with a big open space, straight off Fiona thought she saw some light forms in one area and one or two noises were heard which we couldn't explain. We sat on the floor and tried to prompt any spirits to communicate with us by copying some knocking sounds to a rhyme, we knocked out on the floor, at one point we thought we got some response but not quite sure. We moved to the next room which had a lot of display cabinets all over so we had to be careful hearing noises from them as we walked around. Dean sat in an area which the Medium (Adrian) had picked up as being a bit negative, I thought I saw a small flash of light and I deffinatly heard a shuffling sound from an area where nobody else was stood. We kept moving round and calling out and Dean felt a strange feeling around his throat area, he said he felt as if it was being tightened by something, a bit like a scarf being tightened round his neck. He then positioned himself in another area that Adrian had picked up as being negative, he stood a while and started to feel uncomfortable, and as I was filming him I saw a light form which was unexplained through the video camera. Dean soon had to move as he felt really uncomfortable, so I decided I would stand in the same position to see how I would feel. Within minutes of standing there we all heard the sound of a whistle in the small corridor to the right side of where I was standing. The whistle was so distinct we radioed to the other groups to make sure it wasn't them and no it wasn't them. The whistle was brilliant but it was a shame it didn't happen again when we asked, in my opinion the sound was just like the old type of whistle that police or firemen would have used years ago. We had a look in the last small display area, but all seemed quiet until we moved onto the stair-well, where we heard a noise and footsteps coming from the top floor, Dean and I went up and there was nobody up there, so who could that of been.

We all investigated the engine room, but nothing out of the ordinary was felt there, although we did all become very relaxed and giggly, so maybe there was some sort of energy affecting us, you never know!

Our last area of investigation was in the cells, myself, Dean, Fiona and Helena all stood together in the first cell and decided to use the Franks Box to see if any spirits would communicate through it. The results were a bit mixed and therefore inconclusive as to whether any spirits were trying to talk to us. We all moved to the end call and tried the same in there, again not much success, my own personal feeling in this area was very quiet.

This whole building was a real treat to investigate and I can't wait to come back!
